Couple of the Month: #TeamBrown
Every month, Sheridan and I want to feature a married couple of the week. We know many of these couples personally. Others we have come to admire from afar. Either way, we appreciate happy and healthy marriages. Ones that recognize the messiness of marriage and still commit to lifelong partnership.
This month we want to feature Barry and Marsha Brown. We always ask our couples to submit a photo that best represents their marriage. And #TeamBrown captures their relationship perfectly in this one. They are an amazing couple, doing life together in Little Rock, Arkansas. Take a few minutes to learn a bit more about their story.
1. How long have you been married?
42 years.
2. When did you know they were the one (include his version of the story vs. her story)?
Her Story: When he went off to college and I went to visit him since that’s what he believes.
His Story: I knew she was the one when she came one weekend to visit me in college. She also would not give me money when the other ladies would.
3. What are some of the things you do to keep your relationship growing (and spicy)?
We meet monthly with other married couples of like minds. We also attend yearly marriage conferences. After almost 40 years, just sitting around chilling is spicy. #menopause
4. What part of marriage wound up being pleasantly surprising for you as a couple?
The length of years. We have been through it all and our latter days are better than our former days.
5. What would you say is the most challenging this about being married?
The different personalities and the way we communicate.
Her: Our expectations because he can’t read my mind.🤦🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️ #sohard🥴
6. If you could name one thing that brought you the most joy as a married couple what would it be?
Raising our girls ❤
